• Assess and diagnose quicker
• Patient tracking – information is available on patient location and progress through care continuum in Emergency department

How will the eMR improve care team coordination and communications?

• Handover efficiencies, can be done anywhere in the department
• Can see at a glance what is happening in the department by using the whiteboard
• Better communications with the rest of the hospital, bed managers and NUM’s about what is happening to potential inpatients

How will the eMR improve safety?

• Results are not missing
• Better identification of the right patient and where they are
• Know what has been ordered, reduced duplication of orders to pathology and radiology
• Improved access to clinical alerts and allergy information when the patient presents to the department
